Svandal is best known for Sauda ski area, which is the starting point for many outdoor activities in the area, both summer and winter. During the summer months, there are marked trails around Svandal, starting at the ski area or from Lyngmyr ski- and hiking area. In this cabin area you can also experience quiet fishing waters, cascading rivers and magnificent nature with views to the Sauda fjord and Sauda town center.
In Lyngmyr ski- and hiking area, there are ski trails during winter, tractor roads and marked trail towards Hovlandsnuten and Nordstøldalen during summer.
In Sauda ski arrea there is frisbee golf and bike trails that one can use during the summer months.
